Lets get started

I'm an overweight smoker in my thirties, and I can only change two out of three of these unfortunate facts. I'm going to try something new for 2015 to help me achieve a relatively simple New Years resolution. This blog is going to be how I hold myself accountable for what I can or cannot accomplish.
I am going to be a runner.
To me, that means that I run more days than days that I don't run, and that I can run an entire 10k without walking at all. I don't have to run fast, or look good while I'm doing it, I just want to be able to run. At the time of this writing (slightly before NYE of 2014) I can't even run a mile.
I plan to do all sorts of things to keep myself interested in the whole running thing, inventing achievements, giving myself prizes and badges, and maybe bestowing titles upon myself. If I have to punish myself I suppose I'll do that, too. Let's see how this goes, shall we?
